Design Week Day 3: Yarn
Today's design week topic is yarn. Just like Stacey mentioned today in her post today on Fresh Stitches, I also try to choose yarn that is readily available, easily substitutable, and will likely continue to be on the market. I have to add one more requirement to Stacey's -- easily machine washable. I think this is important for sweaters.... I have to be able to throw my sweater in the wash or throw my kids' sweaters in the wash. It's just not practical to dry clean things! Caron Simply Soft fits all of these requirements and just happens to be one of my favorite yarns of choice for knitting or crocheting sweaters because I love the way it drapes, it's so soft against the skin (hence the name!) and has a unique look to it compared to other yarns. The kids took long naps today -- and at the same time -- so I had some time to get some crocheting done!

Machine washable is a real plus! Love the color you've picked :)
ReplyDeleteThis yarn looks beautiful! I really like the soft shine that it has to it :)
ReplyDeleteI agree. Caron Simply Soft is one of my favorites. I use it ALL of the time. And I love their heather collection - the colors are really very natural looking. Great company. Love this brand. I use it for sweaters often!
