Instructions
CH 14 and join in the round being careful not to twist
Row 1: CH1, HDC in each CH across, SL ST to CH 1 to join in the round (14 HDCs)
Row 2: CH1, turn work, HDC in each HDC around, SL ST into the beginning CH1 space (14 HDCs)
Rows 3 - 7: Repeat row 2
Row 8 (Increase Row): CH1 Turn, 2 HDC in first HDC space, 1 HDC in each of next 6 HDC spaces, 2 HDC in next HDC space, HDC in each HDC space to end, SL ST into the beginning CH1 space (16 HDCs)
Row 9: CH1, turn work, HDC in each HDC around, SL ST into the beginning CH1 space (16 HDCs)
Row 10 (Hole for Thumb): CH 1, turn work, HDC in each HDC around until last 2 HDC spaces, CH2, SL ST into the beginning CH1 space
Row 11: CH1, turn work, 1 HDC in both CH spaces, HDC in each HDC around, SL ST into the beginning CH1 space
Row 12 & 13: CH1, turn work, HDC in each HDC around, SL ST into the beginning CH1 space
Tie off & weave in ends
Thumbhole: Around thumbhole area, attach yarn to one stitch, CH1, create 6 HDCs evenly spaced around the thumb area. Tie off & weave in ends.
Felt Heart: Cut 2 hearts of desired size out of felt. With a running stitch, thread and floss, attach a heart to each handwarmer.

Love the pattern! Made a pair for my youngest (she's 2) and they wouldn't fit over her hands though! Any suggestions on making a bigger size? Should I just use a larger hook or maybe throw in a few extra chain stitches in the beginning?
ReplyDeleteSo glad you made these and sorry the size didn't work out. Yes, I would try adding maybe 2 extra chains at the beginning and see if that works. Good luck!
